"But the NDAA is only for our security! It only targets 'suspected al Qaeda supporters'." Yea, right...
What's next, "suspected supporters of 'al Qaeda-ism"? How about suspected Iranian supporters"? What's next? "suspected China supporters?" (in 2012, America is selling P-3 Orion anti-submarine warfare aircraft to the Vietnamese, for future use against their historic enemies, the Chinese). Considering that the CIA overthrew the Australian Labor government in 1976 and is basing U.S. "rapid reaction" forces in Australia in 2012, maybe "Australia Supporter" can become grounds for "suspicion of enemy affiliation."
Fact:
America is now in a permanent state of mass-media-glorified war.
The strategic doctrine of this permanent war-state was created June 3, 1997, with release of Statement of Principles for "Project for a New American Century."
Most of the 25 signatories of the PNAC became the core of notorious "NeoCons", enlisted by the George W. Bush administration. At the top, Vice President Dick Cheney and his chief of staff, "Scooter Libby" (a liar who was disgraced for "outing" CIA agent Valerie Plame). As the author of this web page, I have analyzed the composition of the PNAC/ "NeoCons" and have found that many are the same "threat-escalation" radicals who hijacked the CIA's national intelligence estimates during the Ford Administration. This so called "Team B" went on to cause suspension of arms control efforts and massive military spending under Ford, Carter and Reagan (and no, the spending didn't cause the downfall of the Soviet Union. I met Gorbachev's science adviser, Roald Sagdeev, weeks before the strategic doctrine of "Relative sufficiency" was announced. The Soviets collapsed because they were simply sick and tired.)
The ruinous financial legacy of both Team B and PNAC is simple to document: after inciting a spectrum of destabilizing violence (political, economic, military) against other countries, using the PNAC doctrine of "Full Spectrum Domination." Once the target nation/region was destabilized and ready for domination, America could attack it with unparalleled domestic economic and industrial might. "What's good for America is good for the world." The problem, Cheney's "deficits don't matter" left the unbridled spending, financed with Treasury debt (largely to Saudi and Chinese.)
The fascist keystone was "Imperial Presidency"- without Congressional oversight!
